What We Do
StartingaChildrensMuseum.com is a project of BrownKnows Design, LLC.
We love working with the passionate and entrepreneurial
emerging children’s museum market and have the knowledge and experience to
launch your exhibits into orbit!
Make it stand out.
Working with a specialized
museum exhibit designer
pays dividends.
We can help you:
refine your vision and “sense of place” to create a product with real community connections
save money! Our experience helps you avoid budget surprises, and our conceptual design phases will boost your fundraising capacity exponentially!
Conceptual Design
An early Conceptual Design uses broad strokes based on your Strategic Plan, in order to “paint a picture” of the anticipated look and feel of the visitor experience, invaluable for building the initial “hype machine” within the community.
Ground Plan
Based on the size of the given space, the key elements defined in your Strategic Plan, and any sponsorships or other must-haves, a detailed ground plan begins to inform the stages of fabrication.
3D Renderings
As the exhibit elements begin to take shape through continuous conversation between all parties, 3D Renderings help in visualizing circuit play and planning for transportation of loose parts.
Schematic Designs
When exhibit elements have been finalized, detailed Schematic Designs clarify dimensions of each component and materials to be used. Schematic Designs may also include the text for signage and interactives, as well as a style guide (color palette & typography for all graphics). Schematics are great to use in fundraising for individual components.
Production Calendar
A master Production Calendar is critical for keeping fabricators, painters, building contractors, and museum staff all on the same page - helping to prevent conflicts and costly delays or interruptions.
